Elżbieta PolakThis year the Lubuskie Film Summer will be held for the 40th time. I remember precisely when as a university student I went to the festival and camped out. After some time I took my sons there.

During the festival Lagow transforms into the capital of the Central European cinema. The importance and prestige of this event are demonstrated by the people who are connected with it: Wajda, Kutz or Zanussi.

It is not worth trying to find red carpets, blasé stars and big city glamour. The Lubuskie Film Festival is above all a cinema feast and a real treat for its enthusiasts.

I am happy that thanks to a considerable sum of 2,5 mln PLN from the Lubuskie Regional Operational Programme this year we can meet in a newly renovated open-air cinema.

The Lubuskie Film Summer ? the oldest film festival in Poland ? is a cultural flagship of the province. Its 40th edition is a great opportunity to promote the potential of the entire region even more effectively. This year the people of the Lubuskie province are going to celebrate not one but a few Days of the Province the host of which is going to be Lagow.

I would like to wish you unforgettable experiences and invite you to celebrate the event together. Lubuskie is worth the West ? it is worth seeing it with your own eyes.
